Judge Relics by what they change in your current fleet, not rarity alone. The latest demo reworked roughly 30% of Relics around clearer synergies. Deathslug rewards a bullet-weapon starting squadron, Inversion turns Acid pools into ally healing zones, Snowglobe adds healing during shield recharge, and Lay an Egg now triggers mines reliably.

The current named relic examples
The official update says around 30% of Relics were improved or reworked and new Relics were added. That makes old playtest tier lists fragile; effect text and current build context matter more than stale rankings.
| Relic | Current official effect summary | Build implication |
|---|---|---|
| Deathslug | Powerful damage boost when the starting squadron uses bullets | Commit the starting slot to the condition; do not treat it as a generic fleet-wide damage relic. |
| Inversion | Acid puddles keep hurting enemies and also heal allies | Turns Slaraash Acid space into sustain space. |
| Snowglobe | Heals units while shields recharge | Naturally supports Cobalt shield cycling. |
| Lay an Egg | Mine drop now triggers every time instead of relying on chance | More reliable mine-based damage and setup. |
| Scavenger’s Feast | Confirmed as part of the current relic pool | Effect details were not included in the public update—do not invent them. |
Use a three-question relic filter
If the answer to the first question is no, rarity should not rescue the pick. This is the simplest way to avoid collecting impressive-looking effects that never touch your real combat plan.
- Does the relic affect a weapon, faction system or starting squadron you are actually using?
- Does it solve the run’s current problem—damage, sustain, economy or control—or only add win-more value?
- Will taking it force you to keep a weak squadron just to preserve the relic condition?
Why starting-squadron relics matter
The developer specifically highlighted a new group of Relics that reward the squadron in the starting slot. These can create a run identity immediately, but only if you are willing to keep building around that opening choice.
